The meeting was called to order at 10:20 a.m.

- Update on ARLIS/NA conference schedule:

Several Task Forces (TF’s) have been working during the year and will report in Atlanta: Archives TF; Assessment TF; SEI Long Term Planning TF; and Membership Database TF.
Book reviews will be posted bi-monthly on the ARLIS/NA web site.
There will be no ARLIS/NA dues increase in 2007.
ARLIS/NA will offer four travel awards of $750.00 each in 2007.
- Treasurers Report – Shelley Quattrocchi

There are currently 34 members in good standing. Shelley clarified that even though each member’s Chapter dues are not due until April 1, the membership year is actually from January 1 to December 31. Starting in 2007, ARLIS Midstates members will receive three email notices of membership renewal. The first will go out in January, the second in February and the third in March. April 1 will remain the due date for membership dues.
- Nomination Committee Report – Alba Fernandez-Keys
The committee is comprised of Alba Fernandez-Keys, Sara Carter and Miriam Nelson (Indiana University). Alba reported that Leslie Kott Wakeford is the Vice-Chair/Chair Elect candidate for 2007. The floor was opened for other nominations. No other candidate names were suggested. Ballots will go out by December 1, 2006
- Donation to 2007 ARLIS/NA Conference (Atlanta, April 26-30)
B.J. Irvine moved that the Midstates Chapter donate $300.00 for the welcome party at the 2007 ARLIS/NA conference. The motion passed. The Midstates Chapter will donate $300.00 for the ARLIS/NA conference.
- William C. Bunce/ARLIS Midstates Travel Award
Rijn Templeton called for committee volunteers. Sarah Carter and Eileen Fry volunteered to serve on the Travel Award Committee.
- Chapter Affiliation Agreement
After a brief discussion, Annette Haines made a motion to vote on whether or not to affiliate the Midstates chapter with ARLIS/NA. B.J. Irvine amended the motion with a recommendation that we approve the Midstates chapter affiliation with ARLIS/NA. The motion passed unanimously to affiliate with ARLIS/NA. Shelley Quattrocchi and Jennifer Hehman will investigate insurance for officers and directors and make a recommendation at the next Midstates chapter meeting in spring 2007.
- 2009 ARLIS/NA Indianapolis Conference
Conference Co-Chairs B.J. Irvine and Ursula Kolmstetter talked about plans for the North American conference and projected images of possible logos that are being designed by MFA students at the IU Bloomington School of Fine Arts. They also passed around examples of the logos. Ursula, B.J. and Eileen Fry will decide upon the logo.
The theme for the conference is “Circle City Convergence: stART your engines.”

Volunteers are needed to help with the conference. Some of the open assignments are: Joint Conferences or Sessions and Special Events Sponsorship. Please contact B.J. if you can volunteer (irvine@indiana.edu ). Jennifer Hehman also asked for volunteers to help with the many tours during the conference.
- Website Revision Working Group Report – Sarah Carter
Cheryl Hill and Sarah Carter comprise the working group. Sarah said that the hierarchy and organization of the web site will be improved, but the basic format will remain the same. Other possibilities discussed were a new image for the home page, adding pictures of the officers, and a separate visible link for the 2009 conference planning. The Midwest Cataloging Discussion Group link will be removed. Sarah asked that comments and suggestions be sent to her (saccarte@gmail.com ). Update (29Nov06): The link will remain due to post-meeting discussion which will lead to a resurrection of the group.
- ArLiSNAP Web Site – Megan Macken
There is a new blog/web site at www.arlisnap.org for art library students and new art librarian professionals called ArLiSNAP. Megan distributed flyers describing the web site.
